The Feldenkrais Method aims to help you learn to relieve pain or discomfort that you may feel in your daily life and to overcome any movement limitations, you may be experiencing. Based on the sensorimotor dynamics of the body, the plasticity of the brain and a pedagogy of discovery, it facilitates the perception of body signals that can help you move more harmoniously, regardless of your age and physical condition.
With the Feldenkrais Method, you will experience gentle and slow movement that will bring you a general sense of physical and mental well-being and that will help you discern which movements are the most appropriate for you. It will allow you to improve your quality of life, to counter changes linked to aging or to improve your sports or artistic performances.
Group classes
In a weekly group class, movements are directed verbally, without models to imitate, to help you discover more efficient ways of moving based on your bodily sensations. By becoming aware of your bodily sensations and experimenting with different movement options, you will improve motor coordination and enrich your daily actions.
You will learn to progressively release unnecessary muscle tension at your own pace, according to your own range of motion, without needing to stretch or build up your muscles. This will result in better flexibility, increased mobility, stress reduction, progressive improvement of posture and greater vitality.
Individual Sessions
In a one-on-one session, the Feldenkrais practitioner combines touch and talk to suggest new ways of moving. Tactile cues communicate optimal movement options directly to the nervous system. Comfortably clothed and lying on a low table, you will learn to engage all parts of your body, releasing restrictions that impede the fluidity of your movements.
At ESPACE212, Feldenkrais practitioners are trained to work with people of all ages and physical conditions, including those with stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, cerebral palsy, or motor development disorders.
